NSWOCC Continence Preceptorship

Register Now for Fall/Winter 2026/27

The Continence Care Preceptorship is open to NSWOC Students, practicing NSWOCS and Nurses/Medical professions looking to upgrade their continence care knowledge.

    Once you've enrolled, you can begin watching the videos immediately.

    After you sign up, we will reach out via email with instructions on completing your 24-hour continence preceptorship, which includes:

    1. Watching all video modules

    2. Completing and submitting a Continence Case Scenario

    3. Completing the video module quiz

    4. Attending a five-hour live seminar

  • *Note: You must have at least 7 weeks of continence theory before beginning your preceptorship course.

    Cohort 39 or earlier:

    • You may begin your preceptorship at any time.

    Cohort 40 (September 2026 start):

    • You may begin your preceptorship October 26th, 2026.

    Cohort 41 (January 2027 start):

    • You may begin your preceptorship February 22nd, 2027.

    Cohort 42 (September 2028 start):

    • You may begin your preceptorship October 25th, 2027.

    Live seminar dates

    The preceptorship includes a five-hour live seminar. You will select your preferred date during the checkout and registration process. Available dates:

    • Thursday, November 5th, 2026

    • Thursday, November 19th, 2026

    • Thursday, December 3rd, 2026

    • Thursday, December 17th, 2026

    • Thursday, January 21st, 2027

    • Thursday, February 11th, 2027

    • Thursday, March 11th, 2027

  • The preceptorship includes:

    • 19 hours of online video modules (watch at your own pace)

    • A five-hour live seminar (you'll select your date during checkout and registration)

    • A continence case study assignment

    • A skill-testing quiz

    Once you create an account on our website and register for the preceptorship, you'll have immediate access to the videos and can begin learning at your own pace. During checkout and registration, you'll also select your preferred date for the live seminar.

    After you've registered, you'll receive an email with a link to the skill-testing quiz, along with an outline of the continence case study assignment. In addition to the 19 hours of video learning and the five-hour live seminar, you'll have time allotted to complete your case study and the online quiz. These hours count towards your preceptorship.

    To receive your certificate of completion (24-hour preceptorship completed), you must attend the live seminar, submit your case study, and pass the online quiz.

  • WOC policy is that you cannot accumulate preceptorship hours/credits if you have not done at least 7 weeks of corresponding theory.  

    Please follow this general rule if you are an NSWOCC Student signing up for preceptor hours:

    September start date: Preceptorship can start mid October.

    January start date: Preceptorship can start mid February

    Students from previous cohorts can do it anytime.

  • This course was designed specifically as a recognized preceptorship opportunity equivalent to 3 days of continence preceptorship by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Institute.

    While the course was designed for NSWOC Students, many practicing NSWOCs take the course, allowing new and practicing NSWOCs to tap into Sue’s wealth of knowledge in continence care.
